FC Barcelona 13-0 Oiartzun: Hermoso scores six in gargantuan victory

The women's team stay in contention with Atlético Madrid at the top of the table with three games to play after crusing to Tuesday morning victory

The Barça women’s team have the Spanish title in their sights. Tuesday’s lop-sided game was a veritable goal-fest that leaves them joint top of the table and with a considerably healthier goal difference – a factor that could well come into play with just three games left, including the potentially decisive one at home to fellow title-chasers Atlético Madrid in a fortnight’s time.

This game against Oiartzun, from a town on the outskirts of San Sebastian in the Basque Country, was only ever going one way. Barça already lead 7-0 at the break, with a massive four goals for Liga top scorer Jenni Hermoso plus a brace for Aitana Bonmatí and another for Mariona.

Xavi Llorens made a number of changes at half-time, but the goals kept coming, with Olga García getting two after coming on and Andressa Alves returning from injury to notch up goal as well. Jennifer Hermoso stayed on and managed to take her total for the day up to a jaw-dropping six, with Bárbara Latorre also getting on the scoresheet.
