Barça’s Champions League rivals Manchester City lost 2-0 at home to Arsenal on Sunday afternoon at the Etihad. It was not the best of performances against a side that defended well and knew how to take their chances. The defeat leaves City five points behind leaders Chelsea, who won 5-0 at Swansea on Saturday.
Former Villarreal man Santi Cazorla opened the scoring from a penalty after Kompany had brought down Monreal in the area, and the Gunners’ second came courtesy of Giroud.
