Edmilson highlights charity element of Legends match
Speaking to Barça TV, the former Brazilian midfielder is proud that the match against Manchester United will go towards helping children in need

Edmilson will be back in a Barça shirt on Friday when a team of blaugrana legends take on some old heroes of Manchester United (7.00pm CET).
Aside from the spectacle that the likes of Rivaldo and Ronaldinho will bring to the game, Edmilson is happy that the game is for a good cause.
The proceeds will go to the Pediatric Cancer Center Barcelona of the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital, and Edmilson says “it will be great to see the a big crowd at the stadium because it is for such a great cause”.
Speaking of his own charity, the Edmilson Foundation, he said: “I came from a very poor town and now I’ve gone back to my roots to help them and show them there is hope of progressing”.
Friday will see him reuinited with some of his former teammates who helped Barça to lots of silverware, like Ronaldinho, Belletti and Giuly: “When I joined Barça, the club had gone a while without winning titles so winning what we did was very impressive. Now Barça have gone on winning for over a decade and what they have managed is incredible”.
