Barça Women continue to set records, not just on the field but also in the digital world. On Social Media, the team's Instagram account, @fcbfemeni, ended 2022 with 95.3 million interactions, the highest number ever recorded by a women's sports team.
In fact, the growth in engagement seen on the Instagram account in a year is very impressive. In 2021 the @fcbfemeni account received 35.1 million interactions compared to 95.3 million in 2022, a rise of 172%.
The figures place the Barça Women's team at the top of the table by some margin ahead of their rivals. In second place came Chelsea Women with 44.9 million and then Arsenal in third place on 25.2 million. In fourth place we find Real Madrid on 24.4 million and fifth Corinthians on 21.3 million from 2022.
Leaders on Twitter too
Barça Women are also leaders when it comes to another social network, Twitter. In fact, on a national level the team are in the top three, only surpassed by the main accounts for both FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, placing them ahead of the remaining 18 La Liga clubs.
10 billion interactions on the Instagram main account
Aside from the great figures for the Barça Women account, it is worth remembering that the FC Barcelona main account on Instagram has surpassed 10 billion interactions since it was created back in January 2013. The team in second place is Manchester United with some 7 billion, a fair way behind the blaugranes.
